The strip itself runs from “Sunset and Crescent Heights Boulevard” to “Sunset and Doheny drive”. The Sunset strip has been immortalized in lots of Hollywood movies but in real life, it is equally famous for shopping, restaurants, nightlife, and celebrity sightings.

A typical L.A. bus will run you from the Sunset/Vermont metro stop to the Sunset strip.

Most Los Angelenos prefer to commute by car, so not too much attention has been paid to developing an efficient and timely transit system that covers the extensive urban sprawl that defines the city.

If however, you are on a constrained budget, your next best option is public transportation. The “Sunset/Vermont” stop on the Los Angeles Metro system’s “Red Line” will get you to Sunset Boulevard.



Next, to get to the part of Sunset Boulevard considered the Sunset strip, simply hop on bus number 2. And get off at Sunset Boulevard and Clark. You will have to explore the rest of the strip by foot.

Chateau Marmont

It is also the favorite hang out for the Hollywood elite as it has almost become a rite of passage for celebrities to choose this hotel when they are in town for work.

Chateau Marmont is very expensive and yet sells out it’s rooms quickly so plan accordingly.
